SPRING BREAK COMING SOON! SIGN UP WHILE THERES STILL A SPOT AVAILABLE!!!

Hey! Let’s Face It! If We All Had The Time And Could Afford It, Our Children WOULD Take Part In An Extra Curricular Activity!!!!

Currently Teaching at Churchland Elementary School, and Little Grove Baptist Foundation Learning Center. This has truly been an awesome opportunity for kids in the area to take dance at an affordable price. What a convenience it is for a parent to not have to worry about traveling to and from work, back to their child’s school, and off again to their child’s after school activity. Not to mention the two and three jobs that some parents have which may make all of this transporting difficulties. Or unreliable transportation. Or the, “Oh so common” one vehicle to a home situation.  The parents only have to get their children to their school. The parents can continue on at work or catch up on whatever responsibilities they may have and only have to pick them up from school in one fair swoop. I give a huge KUDOS to the schools who were and are willing to take the chance to offer their students this opportunity. More schools should take advantage of this!

Good Morning! We recently had our FIRST Black History Performance at one of our local Elementary Schools! HOW EXCITING! WE HAD A BALL to say the very very least! My adrenaline is still pumping from that night! Now there were a few technical difficulties! But it was still a great First BH Month Performance, and to be honest, it was also a great experience for the principal dancers of Devereaux Dance Studio. So let me just get to what some of the complications were. The sound system was broken and the stage was very small. We have approximately 11 dancers doing ballet and modern pieces. Therefore, leaps, a lot of arm action, and kicking were involved.  The size of this stage was not what we were used to. Oh and no dressing room. We only had a very small ramp to do make-up, change clothes and stay organized! Talk about an experience! But to get through it! And to pull it off at a high standard! Devereaux Dance Studio Principal Dancers, I am sooooo proud of you!!!! Really, I am!!! A couple friends of the studio recorded the performance. So I hope to post the video very soon. Maybe even later on today, Thursday February 23.

Dance Dance Dance Dance Dance!!!!
Reasons Why Dancing is So Good For You! Me! Evereyone! =)
BUILD MORE MUSCLE! Seniors naturally lose muscle mass with age. A regular program of strengthening exercise with weights, gym equipment or resistance bands can help maintain and even build muscle. New research has demonstrated that muscle strength is one of the most significant indicators of age, and that increasing muscle strength is one of the most effective ways to slow the overall aging process. Scientific studies show that the strongest men and women had the lowest risk of dying over a five–year period. Yoga is a wonderful exercise to add strength and improve balance and flexibility that will add to a longer and more actuve life.

Healthier Living!!! Live Longer, Dance!
STAY ACTIVE! Regular exercise is more powerful than any medication for improving the condition of your heart, reducing blood pressure, strengthening muscles and activating your brain. Walk, run, or participate in other aerobic exercise for at least 20 minutes every day. A recent Finish study found that the death rate among aerobically unfit older men was 2.75 times higher than the death rate among their aerobically fit counterparts.

February: If you have chosen a class that is available twice a week, you are able to take them both, without any extra charge. (This special is for the entire month of Feb)
13 – 17: Dance with your daughter. Parents, stretch out those old leotards, and come dance with your daughter or son for Valentine’s Day.
Good Morning! Peace and Blessings! Thank you in advance for considering either your cardio or principal dance workout at DDS.  Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Domminique. Ive been dancing for a long time, and have a strong passion for dancing, working out, and teaching.  I have danced ever since I was very young, and continue to train under Alvin Ailey, and New York Broadway School of Dance.  There are only a few dance schools in this area who offer adequate dance training or truly understand the importance of a healthy lifestyle.  A balanced nutrition, and cardio health, is the key to life.  Healthy living is our fountain of youth.  The question is when and where? If dance interest you, or if you know someone else who has a child who may have the dreams of being a dancer, I invite you to come check out Devereaux Dance Studio.  Working out CAN indeed be fun! You will have so much fun dancing that you wont even notice the sweat until close to the end. ..and did i mention the opportunities available at DDS, nutritional counseling available by appointment, principal training, affordable classes, travel, performances, and other special invites for Devereaux Dance Studio dancers.

Here are a couple of ways to visit the studio and find more information.
